Hampta Pass Trek – Trekking in Himachal

The Hampta Pass trek is located in Himachal Pradesh and the trekking starts from Manali. Trekking to Hampta Pass is possible in just five days. So any one can easily plan out a week for trekking and enjoy the utmost beauty of nature.

Trekking journey for Hampta pass will begin like this: It will be a drive journey from Manali to Jorba and from Jorba the real trekking will start. While trekking towards Jorba you will get to view beautiful Pine forest, rock faces and trees like Maple, Walnut and Oak. You will also get to see the beautiful river hampta flowing and then finally you will reach Chikka which is filled with beautiful natural grass. With Chikka the trekking for the first day ends and night will be spent in a tent pitted in Chikka.

The first day trekking will be an easy one of 2-3 hours. The next day the trekking will head towards Balu Ka Gehra which is some 11900 feet and will take around 4-5 hours. The initial trek towards Balu ka Ghera will be on the bank of the river through rocks. Further you will view valleys covered with snow and finally you will reach the 2nd day destination Balu ka Gehra which is actually a plain ground with the river flowing on another side. At night this place looks like heaven. On the third day the trekking will begin from Balu Gehra towards Siagoru(12900 ft). When you will reach Hampta Pass where you get to view glaciers and snow all over and then from Hampta Pass you will head towards Siagoru and stay at the camp for the night.

The fourth day you will head from Siagoru towards Chhatru which brings you closer towards the road. Here you can view beautiful valleys of Lahaul and Spiti. The mountains of Pir Panjal and Spiti ranges adds beauty and creates a magical view which continues till Chhatru. Chattru is basically meting point of path from Rohtang Pass, Hampta Pass and Spiti. Here the trekking for the fourth day ends. Fourth day trekking will take around 4-4.5 hours. On the fifth and last day it will be a drive journey from Chattru to Manali through Rohtang pass which will take 7 hours approx. During the journey from Chhatru to Manali you will get to see the amazing views which you would have imagine in your dreams only.
